Jim Stafford
Jim established the firm in 1995 as a specialist Credit Management Consultancy firm. He had previously qualified with Oliver Freaney & Co as a chartered accountant in 1987. After qualifying he gained substantial international corporate recovery and restructuring experience with Spicer & Oppenheim in New York (2 years) and with Coopers & Lybrand in London (5 years). He returned to Ireland in 1994 and established Friel Stafford Corporate Recovery, which is now one of Ireland's leading Corporate Recovery and insolvency practices.
He was Secretary General of the Irish Institute of Credit Management from 1999 to 2002. He has lectured and written widely on many Credit Mangaement matters. He is retained by a number of leading Irish and multinational companies to advise them on Credit Management issues.
He has had practical experience of advising all types of industries which encounter cash flow difficulties, ranging from aerospace and mining to construction and IT.
He is a Fellow of the Irish Institute of Credit Management and is a member of the Irish Society of Insolvency Practitioners.
He is an experienced Mediator, particularly in the area of Shareholder disputes.

Tom Murray
Tom is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Before moving into Corporate Recovery and Insolvency, Tom developed wide ranging experience in professional finance roles with a number of leading International and Irish businesses such as Chase Manhattan Bank, Dexia Fund Services Limited and AIB in a number of diverse areas including Corporate Treasury and Corporate Accounting. He has also worked with Ernst & Young.
Prior to joining Friel Stafford, Tom worked as a Corporate Finance Consultant with a specialist niche firm for early and medium stage business and as a Consultant in the area of cost control.
Tom was the President of the ACCA Leinster Members Network for 2005 and 2006 and also serves on the ACCA Representative and Executive Committees.
He is a member of the Irish Institute of Credit Mannagement and the Irish Society of Insolvency Practitioners.
He has lectured for both the ACCA and the Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI) and has written Insolvency related articles for the ACCA’s In Practice magazine and the CAI’s Accountancy Ireland.

Alan Geraghty ACA

Alan trained as a trainee accountant with Horwath Bastow Charleton before joining Friel Stafford in 2002. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2006. He obtained a distinction in the Diploma in Forensic Accounting run by Chartered Accountants Ireland. Alan is manager of our Forensic Accounting and Investigation Services team.
Alan has 8 years of investigation and forensic experience with Friel Stafford. He has undertaken forensic accounting assignments including the preparation of Expert Witness Reports.
He has presented practical debt collecting courses for Chartered Accountants Ireland. He has also written courses, lectured and presented CPD courses on Fraud and Forensic Accounting.
He has conducted a significant amount of investigations in construction companies, car dealerships, property developers and a wide variety of companies across a broad range of sectors.
